TThe globalization of the economy, the international requirements for sustainable economic growth of the economies, the necessity for international energy regulations and the tendency for a clean energy investment activity increase the need for specialized and qualified expertise in the field of economics for sustainable economic growth and development at both the micro- and macro-level of economic activity.
This Bachelor’s programme aims to train high-level executives to the new requirements imposed by economic growth and development that fully take into account the needs of a burdened from economic activity environment, through:
Successful professional career in academia, research or business in their home country or internationally.
Specialization in using Financial Analysis methods and tools with an emphasis on sustainable economic growth and development.
Specialization in the international institutional framework of renewable energy sources and international energy trade.
Special abilities and skills, in the field of management of energy sources and the protection of the environment.
Deep knowledge or the organization and management of investments that create sustainable economic growth and development.
Practical placement
Upon completion, graduates will have acquired the skills to use all the necessary methods, tools, models, and practices appropriate for a sustainable environment.
The programme was created by a partnership between three Departments: Economics, Chemical Engineering, and Mathematics and is located in Kastoria Campus of the University of Western Macedonia (UOWM). Students are at the core of UOWM’s philosophy. International students will have full access to the Advisors and Support offered by UOWM and access to holistic care facilities and services available in five cities.
The curriculum of the 4-year/8-semester programme has been designed taking into account the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). One semester corresponds to 30 ECTS and 13 full weeks of teaching. 240 ECTS are needed for graduation. Students may undertake a 3-month optional placement, with three (3) ECTS credits on the subject of their studies in any member country of the European Union.
